Bitter sweet...

In 36 hours, I'll be sitting on a plane flying to Dublin, Ireland.
Bitter, because I have to travel and spend the next 4 weeks without my family. Making a livelong wish come true and travelling to Ireland is the sweet about it.
What will I do in Dublin?
I am on an internship supposedly funded by the European Union working with a group called "Forest Friends Ireland" (FFI) whose goal it is, to advance the reforestation of Ireland with once domestic broadleaf trees.
My internship is "supposedly funded by the European Union", because so far I have received none of the advance payments to cover my expenses. It's a classic case of Europe: they are willing to spend money and need to employ at least three suborganizations before it gets to the person they subsidize for. And in the process of overadministration naturally a time delay will occur.
Luckily, I found a cheap flight and affordable accomodation. To add an etra pich of luck of the Irish, I have a teacher generous enough to grant me a private loan to embark on that adventure.
Being the first internee from my school to work with FFI, it is  imparative to perform well in order to establish a potentially longer lasting professional relationship with Ireland.
So, Ireland on a tight budget, here I come!!
